In the midst of creating something, have you ever found yourself in need of feedback but hesitated to ask because of the various responses you might receive? The Critical Response Process, developed by Liz Lerman and John Borstel, offers a structured approach to providing feedback for individuals engaged in any form of creation. This process will be presented to workshop participants, who will learn its fundamental structure, rules, and take on the roles of Responders to gain practical experience. By the end of the two-hour session, attendees will be equipped to apply and master the Critical Response Process in their respective environments. Ideal for individuals involved in giving or receiving feedback on Works in Progress, this training is recommended for district-level leads engaging with stakeholders on policy previews, English teachers facilitating writing seminars, mentors, coaches, and school administrators assessing staff performance, and teaching teams seeking a more methodical and well-received approach to keeping their professional peers accountable.
